Posing Beauty: African-American Images from the 1890s to the Present
Panel discussion of the Williams College Museum exhibit, Posing Beauty in African American Culture, held on October 21, 2010. The discussion featured curator Deborah Willis, art historian Robin Kelsey, and artist Carrie Mae Weems, and others. The exhibition explored the contested ways in which African and African American beauty have been represented in historical and contemporary contexts through a diverse array of media including photography, video, fashion, and advertising.
